MP Monsoon Update: Monsoon has become fully active in Madhya Pradesh and its effect is clearly visible in most of the districts of the state. In the last 24 hours, many districts witnessed heavy rains along with strong winds, which on one hand brought relief from the heat and on the other hand affected life. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains, lightning and thunderstorms in many districts of the state for June 26. Let us know the complete mood of the weather.
In the 24 hours till June 25, moderate to heavy rains were recorded in most districts of Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Rewa, Jabalpur, Shahdol and Sagar divisions. The major rainfall figures include 211 mm rain in Alirajpur’s Kaththiwada, 131 mm in Mandla, 118 mm in Katni, 116.2 mm in Singodi and 89.2 mm in Jhabua. The minimum temperature in Pachmarhi was recorded at 17.2°C, while the maximum temperature in Sidhi was 35.8°C. Strong winds blew at a speed of 44 km/h in Ujjain, 43 km/h in Sehore and Shajapur.

On June 27, monsoon activities will remain strong in the eastern and central districts of Madhya Pradesh. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Jabalpur, Umaria, Mandla, Dindori, Katni and Shahdol districts. Western districts like Ujjain, Indore and Dewas may also receive heavy showers accompanied by thunder and lightning.
On June 28, incidents of rain and lightning will be more active mainly in the districts of Baghelkhand and Mahakaushal region, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Panna and Anuppur. The intensity of rain may decrease slightly in the western districts but the weather will remain unstable.
According to the Meteorological Department, the northern boundary of the monsoon has reached Jammu and Kashmir via Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh. In Madhya Pradesh, the monsoon has become active in the entire state due to the moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal and the cyclonic circulation formed in the north-eastern Arabian Sea. In the coming days, monsoon rain will remain strong in all areas of the state.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert saying that visibility may decrease due to heavy rains, which may affect road and air traffic. There is a possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas, which may disrupt traffic and increase the risk of waterborne diseases. Strong winds may cause trees, electric poles and temporary structures to fall.
Lightning strikes can pose a threat to life and property, so people have been advised not to stand under trees or electric poles and stay in safe places. Farmers have been advised not to spray pesticides and fertilizers during rains and to cover the crops safely.
