YouTube Music has quietly rolled out a new feature, with the help of which users can now see the lyrics of songs even when they are offline. Users who have downloaded songs and the lyrics of those songs are available, will now be able to read them even when there is no internet connection. Interestingly, YouTube Music has launched this feature before its competitors Spotify and Apple Music. Both these platforms currently do not have the option to see offline lyrics.

Lyrics will appear automatically for downloaded songs.

A user on Reddit first discovered this feature. He said that lyrics have started appearing for the songs downloaded in the YouTube Music Android app. However, Google has not made any mention of this feature in the release notes of the latest version of the app on the Play Store. The company has quietly activated this feature.

According to the report, this feature is currently available only for Android users. This feature is not working on iOS yet. Some users also say that they have not found this feature even in the latest version, which suggests that it is slowly being rolled out to all users.

When will this feature be useful?
This feature of offline lyrics will be very useful when the user does not have an internet connection. Like during flight travel, while traveling in the metro, when the network coverage is weak, now it will be possible to read the lyrics of the songs even at such times. Let us tell you that last month YouTube also added a voting feature to its Collaborative Playlists. In this feature, users can upvote or downvote songs in a playlist. This helps in bringing better songs to the top in the playlist.
