Torrential rain accompanied by strong winds lashed parts of Hebri and surrounding areas on Thursday, causing localized flooding and damage to infrastructure.

In Kuchchar-Kencharakla, where a bridge construction project is underway, a temporary alternate road created for traffic has been washed away due to the heavy downpour. The area near the bridge was inundated, prompting an inspection visit by Udupi Additional Deputy Commissioner Abid Gadyal and Hebri Tahsildar Prasad S.A.

Meanwhile, in the Agumbe region, Sita River overflowed due to continuous heavy rain, resulting in flooding of nearby farmlands.

In Kanyana, strong winds uprooted several trees, causing damage to three electric poles and affecting the power supply. In Mudradi, gusty winds caused partial damage to the house of a resident identified as Shobha of Aadal Betta, leading to property loss.

Local authorities are monitoring the situation and have urged residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert.
