Competition with other companies

BSNL has now joined the race of delivering SIMs to every home like private companies like Airtel, Jio, and Vi. However, it is not clear whether BSNL's home delivery is free or if some charge will be taken for it. Whereas the other three companies provide this service without any charge.

Why did BSNL take this step?

According to a TRAI report, BSNL lost about 2 lakh subscribers in the month of April, out of which 1.8 million were active users. In such a situation, the company is now bringing new services to get back customers.
