CBSE National Teacher Award: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the self-nomination process for the National Teacher Award 2025. Teachers and principals of private independent schools affiliated with CBSE can apply for this honor through the official portal. Applications can be made only through online mode on the CBSE website cbseit.in/cbse/2025/tchawrd/index.aspx. The last date is 6 July 2025.
Who can apply?
Eligible teachers will be those who have completed at least 10 years of continuous service as of 31 March 2025 in a school affiliated with a recognized board.
The condition for the Principal is that he has served 10 years as a teacher and 5 years as a principal.
Teachers/Principals who are retiring on or after 31 March 2025 can also apply.
However, Principals cannot apply in the Teacher category and a person can apply in only one category.
Required Documents
Documents to be uploaded with the application (PDF, less than 1MB):
Verification declaration.
Recommendation letter and service certificate (signed by school manager)
Academic documents (class 10 to post-graduation)
Board or school-level exam results.
Attestation of documents is mandatory by the school head or manager.
Selection Process
The applications will be reviewed based on service period, qualification, age, and exam results.
A merit list of the top 24 candidates will be prepared.
Additional criteria will be applied in case of a tie.
Selected candidates will have to upload their documents within 2 days.
The final selection will be done by a national-level screening committee followed by an interview, in which 6 teachers will be selected for the award.
CBSE has urged all school heads to share this information widely among eligible staff members and ensure timely application.
