Who can do e-votes?

Giving more information about this, Bihar Election Commissioner Deepak Prasad said that this facility will be available to those who are unable to vote at the polling station. He said that to vote online, voters’ phones should have an app installed. This facility can be benefited by senior citizens, disabled, pregnant women and voters living in other states. The State Election Commission also launched an awareness campaign in this regard from 10 to 22 June.

Prasad said, “To take advantage of this facility, voters will have to install the E-SECBHR app. After this, Ed will have to link it to its number in the voter list. This app will work only in Android phones only. This app has been created by Center for Development of Advanced Computing, while there is another app which is made by Bihar Election Commission.”

How will security be arranged?

The biggest fear of e-voting is due to the possibility of tampering. In such a situation, while answering this question, the Election Commission said that the voting process is smooth, fair

And many attempts have been made to keep transparent. For example, only two registered voters will be allowed to log in using a mobile number. Apart from this, every lot of lots will be examined and verified by using voter ID cards. Apart from this, all the voters who do not have a mobile phone can also put e-votes on the Bihar Election Commission website.

Prasad said, “To participate in our scheme and to put e-votes, about 10,000 voters have already registered in the e-voting system. Apart from this, we hope that about 50 thousand more voters will vote online instead of going to polling stations.

Explaining how to complete it safely, Prasad said that we have taken full care of digital safety measures in it. He said, “This system will include facilities like blockchain technology, face matching and scanning to ensure that it does not be tampered with. Apart from this, there will be an audit trail like VVPAT machine, which will be able to keep even more transparency.”
