A new feature is being added to the National Highway Authority of India's (NHAI) 'Rajamarg Yatra' app. With the help of this feature, passengers will be able to choose a route between two places in which the least toll has to be paid. This facility will start from next month.
Amrit Singha, Chief Product Officer of NHAI's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), said, "If you are going from Delhi to Lucknow, then you have three routes, Yamuna Expressway, Ghaziabad-Aligarh-Kanpur-Lucknow route or Moradabad-Bareilly-Sitapur-Lucknow route. Now this app will tell you which route will have the least toll." The Highway Yatra app gives complete information related to national highways to the passengers and also provides complaint redressal facilities.
Big relief in the Delhi-Jaipur journey too
NHAI is soon going to open a 67 km long new spur (connectivity road) from Bandikui to Jaipur via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. With the opening of this road, the journey from Delhi to Jaipur will become even faster. According to Pradeep Atri, Regional Officer of NHAI Rajasthan, this is a four-lane access-controlled road, which has been prepared for Rs 1,368 crore. This road will be opened for trial by mid-July.
NHAI Manager Pushpendra Singh said that the construction of this road has been completed in about 2.5 years. As soon as it starts, the traffic pressure on the old Delhi-Jaipur highway will be reduced to a great extent. Currently, it takes 2.5 hours from Delhi to Bandikui via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and then 1.5 hours from Bandikui to Jaipur, but as soon as the new spur is opened, this journey will be completed in about 3 hours.
