Najmul Hossain Left Bangladesh’s Test Captaincy: Najmul Hussain Shanto has left the captaincy of Bangladesh’s Test team after the second match against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Earlier, Najmul was removed from the post of ODI captain. After which there was a possibility of snatching the test captaincy from him.
In fact, the Bangladesh Cricket Board appointed all -rounder Mehdi Hasan Miraj as Bangladesh’s ODI captain this month for one year. After which now Najmul Hussain Shanto was likely to be removed from the captaincy of the Test. Shanto took this decision after a crushing defeat in the Test series against Sri Lanka. In the last match of the two -Test series, Bangladesh lost by an innings and 78 runs against the host.
Bangladesh created history in Pakistan under the captaincy of Shantio
Last year, the Bangladesh team, captained by Najmul Hussain Shantio, made history by making a clean sweep 2–0 at his house. In the first Test too, Bangladesh had registered a historic victory by 10 wickets. After this, the second Test was won by Bangladesh by 6 wickets. This was Bangladesh’s first win against Pakistan in Test cricket. Both teams played Tests for the first time in 2001.
