Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader visited areas affected by sea erosion in Ullal taluk on Friday and reviewed ongoing mitigation efforts.

During his visit to Batappady in the Someshwara Town Municipality limits, Khader assessed the damage caused by aggressive sea erosion. Authorities have already initiated the construction of a temporary retaining wall to contain further erosion in the region.

Speaking to officials during the inspection, Khader directed that temporary protective walls be constructed in all vulnerable coastal areas of the taluk. He emphasized the importance of ensuring quality workmanship in all such emergency infrastructure projects.

Local residents have been raising concerns about repeated erosion during the monsoon season, and the Speaker’s visit comes as a reassurance that action is being taken to address the issue swiftly.
