Shefali Jariwala, actress and reality TV personality who has been most remembered for her stint in the early 2000s’ music video “Kaanta Laga,” has sadly passed away at age 42. Her untimely demise late on Thursday night, between June 27 and 28, has shocked the entertainment industry, and her fans are left in deep mourning.
Rushed to the Hospital, Declared Dead on Arrival
Early reports indicate Shefali had a cardiac arrest at home in Mumbai. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and three others rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital. Doctors declared her dead as she arrived. Although the official reason for her death has not been announced yet, cardiac arrest is said to be the primary reason.

Heartbreaking Scenes Outside the Hospital
Disturbing videos that have surfaced on social media show a visibly distraught Parag Tyagi leaving the hospital, avoiding any interaction with the media. In another poignant moment, Shefali’s mother arrived at the hospital in a state of shock, clearly overwhelmed by her grief.
A Legacy That Started with Kaanta Laga
Shefali became famous with the 2002 remix video “Kaanta Laga,” which gave her the title of “The Kaanta Laga Girl.” She also became the figurehead of the remix era, establishing herself as glamorous and bold. She also appeared as a guest in the movie “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi” in 2004.
