Colombo: In the second Test match being played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Bangladesh spin bowler Taizul Islam achieved a major achievement. Bangladeshi has become the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 wickets at the World Test Championship for Bangladesh. Taizul Islam took five wickets in the first innings of the second Test.
33 -year -old spinner Islam took five wickets for 131 runs in 42.5 overs for the team headed by Najmul Hussain Shanto in the first innings and played a key role in stopping Sri Lanka for 458 runs. Taizul Islam completed his 100 wickets in his World Test Championship with the wicket of Lahiru Udara.
The match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in Colombo is Taizul’s 25th WTC match for Bangladesh. The list of Bangladeshi bowlers, who takes the most wickets in WTC, is followed by Mehdi Hasan Miraj (87), Hasan Mahmood (33), Taskin Ahmed (33) and Ibadat Hussain (30).

Taizul took his second wicket as Pathum Nisanka on Friday morning. Nisanka scored the most runs for Sri Lanka in the first innings. He faced 254 balls and scored 158 runs with the help of 19 fours. On the first ball of the 84th over, he was caught by Anamul Haq. In his next over, he dismissed Sri Lankan Test captain Dhananjay D. Silva (7) and then completed five wickets with the wickets of Thaharindu Ratnayake (10) and Asitha Fernando (0).
