
Actor Vibhav Roy has mourned the demise of his Shaitani Rasmein co-star, Shefali Jariwala . In an exclusive chat with The Times of India, Vibhav expressed his grief.
The actor, who played the male lead alongside Shefali in the horror drama, said, “I’m absolutely gutted and shocked to hear about her demise. My heart goes out to Parag (Tyagi) bhai and the family in this time of sorrow.”
He added, “She was the life of our set and an absolute pleasure to work with. She was lively, enthusiastic, and had a positive outlook — always engaging in everything with energy and joy. The news of her passing is truly disheartening.”
Known fondly as the “Kaanta Laga girl,” Shefali Jariwala passed away on June 27 at the age of 42 in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest . The actress-model became an iconic face in the early 2000s for her charismatic screen presence and dancing skills.
In 2024, Shefali played the role of Kapalika in Shaitani Rasmein, marking her fiction television debut. In one of her final interviews(
give credit), she had spoken passionately about the show and said, “Everything ticked off the box — the storyline, the concept, and my character. I didn’t want to be just a character who appears for a few scenes. Kapalika gave me a substantial role, and I have grown as an actor with the show.”
The news of Shefali’s untimely demise has left her friends, colleagues, and fans heartbroken. Celebrities, including Aly Goni, Mika Singh, Rajiv Adatia, and Kamya Punjabi, took to social media to pay tribute and express their shock and sadness.
