According to reports, fans have been eagerly awaiting news on The Batman Part II, which was first announced in April 2022, shortly after the original film featuring Robert Pattinson became a box office hit. After multiple delays, the sequel is now set to premiere on October 1, 2027, marking five and a half years since the first installment grossed over $772 million worldwide.
This announcement comes just weeks before the release of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe film, Superman. Gunn recently addressed the frustrations of DC fans regarding the delay in the script for The Batman Part II during an interview.
He stated, 'We were supposed to receive a script in June, and I hope that happens. We feel optimistic about it.' Gunn urged fans to be patient with Reeves, emphasizing that the director deserves the time he needs to craft the screenplay. 'He doesn’t owe anyone anything just because they enjoyed his film. Let him work at his own pace,' he added.
'I find it frustrating when people feel entitled. The screenplay will be ready when Matt is satisfied with it, and he won’t share it until he feels it’s right,' Gunn concluded.
