A British passenger was forcibly removed from a Thai Lion Air flight on Wednesday after allegedly becoming disruptive when his request to change seats due to limited legroom was denied.

The incident occurred aboard a flight departing from Bangkok when the man complained about insufficient space in his window seat and demanded to be moved to an emergency exit seat, Viral Press reported.

Emergency exit seats typically offer more legroom but come at an additional cost.

According to the New York Postthe man became agitated after his request was denied and got into a confrontation with flight attendants.

Authorities were then called to the aircraft. When approached, the man reportedly lay down in the aisle, prompting officers to drag him off the plane.

A viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter) showed the man, dressed in a bright orange Garfield T-shirt, being pulled from his seat and along the aisle by several officials.

At least five individuals were involved in the removal. His arms were restrained during the process, while fellow passengers shouted at him to “get off the plane,” with one calling him “selfish.”

The disruption delayed the flight’s departure from Don Mueang International Airport by approximately an hour, The Mirror reported.

This is not the first case of a passenger being removed from a flight for unruly behavior.

In February, a female passenger and her companion were offloaded from a Singapore Airlines flight bound for Shanghai after allegedly verbally and physically assaulting the cabin crew.
