Bollywood is full of love stories that seem almost like fairytales. One such story was that of Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor . They were once called the ‘IT’ couple of B’Town and fans loved seeing them together.

‘He plays a very very special part in my life’
It was during the first season of ‘ Koffee With Karan ’ that Kareena Kapoor first spoke openly about Shahid Kapoor. Kareena was on the famous couch with actress Rani Mukerji . Both looked stunning as they chatted with KJo.

Karan asked Bebo, “Are you seeing Shahid Kapoor?”, the '3 Idiots' actress couldn’t help laughing, but then gave a lovely answer. She said, “He plays a very very special part in my life. I mean you can see me, he brings a smile to my face, I am twinkling my eyes..so he is the special someone.”.

The first move was all Kareena
Their story became even more interesting when Kareena and Shahid appeared together on ‘Koffee With Karan’ season 2. Fans were eager to hear how their romance began. Karan asked them both to share some fun details, saying, “Do you remember how it all started? Anything interesting to how he proposed to you or asked you out?”

Most people thought Shahid must have gone down on one knee or planned some grand proposal. But it turned out to be quite the opposite. Kareena revealed that it was actually she who chased Shahid, while he played hard to get.

Kareena said with total honesty, “He did not even bother, for 2 months I had to chase him. I was the one who was initiating SMSs’, calls, asking him to meet..he was kind of shy and finally we met up and things started, but it was me who made the first move and accelerated the relationship.”

A love story that fans couldn’t get enough of
Their real-life love story even spilled onto the big screen. Kareena and Shahid starred together in several films like ‘Fida’, ‘36 China Town’ and ‘Chup Chup Ke’. Each film added more to their charm as a couple. Their biggest hit together was ‘Jab We Met’. The film became a classic, and many still watch it today to relive their sizzling chemistry. While fans adored both their relationship ran its course and they eventually parted ways.

Coming back to today, both Kareena and Shahid have happily moved on in their lives. Kareena married Saif Ali Khan in 2012, and they have two lovely sons, Taimur and Jeh. Shahid tied the knot with Mira Rajput in 2015, and they too are blessed with two children, daughter Misha and son Zain.
