Bengaluru: Police have intensified their investigation into the discovery of a human skeleton found in a rainwater harvesting pit at MN Credence Flora Apartment in Lakshmipura, Begur. The skeletal remains were uncovered on June 16 while the pit was being cleaned.

A preliminary forensic report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has confirmed that the remains are human. However, the identity of the deceased remains a mystery.

In a bid to trace the identity, police are now reviewing missing person cases registered between 2012 and the present in Begur and surrounding police station limits. Authorities believe the remains could be linked to one of these unresolved cases.

The skeletal remains will be sent for DNA testing as part of further investigation. Police officials stated that a detailed investigation will be launched once the complete FSL report is received, which will help determine the direction of the case and whether foul play was involved.
