MP News: Gas agencies are continuously sending messages to customers on their mobile phones to get e-KYC done…
MP News: It has been made mandatory for consumers of domestic gas cylinders (LPG) to get e-KYC done. Even after this, consumers are not paying attention to this. Due to this, petroleum companies are preparing to take strict action. Consumers who are not getting e-KYC done will find it difficult to get cylinders. They will not be able to book their cylinders online.
70 thousand consumers have not done e-KYC
The process of e-KYC has been going on for about a year. Gas agencies are constantly sending messages on mobile phones to customers to get e-KYC done. Even after this, consumers are not taking an interest in it. Still, 47 per cent of the consumers in the district have not done e-KYC of their connection. There are about 37 gas agencies in the district. Three lakh 69 thousand consumers are connected to these agencies. Out of this, only one lakh 90 thousand have done KYC. There are still one lakh 70 thousand consumers left.
Consumers have to do this…
To get KYC done, consumers have to go to the agency of the gas company from which they have taken the cylinder, with their Aadhaar, gas diary and mobile. There, e-KYC will be done through biometrics. Aadhaar and the gas consumer number are necessary. Gas agency operator Amit Agarwal said that e-KYC is being done through a fingerprint scanner and face ID of the customers. For e-
KYC, Aadhaar card and gas consumer number are required. It is necessary to have the name of the consumers in whose name the connection is. Apart from this, if consumers want, they can also get e-KYC done online. For this, they will have to download a mobile app.
Every LPG customer must do e-KYC. Its main purpose is to identify the right consumers and to ensure that they get cylinders on time. If someone has changed the address, they can change it. For this, we have made it mandatory for all dealers. They should get e-KYC done for the customers as soon as possible. In the coming days, companies are considering implementing strict rules. – Shubham Birla. Sales Officer, IOC
