Nowadays we all send money through UPI from mobile. But sometimes such a place or situation comes when there is no internet, and we have to send money to someone. In such a situation, the problem arises as to what to do. But now you do not need to worry. The Government of India and NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) have provided an amazing service which is a USSD-based UPI service, that works through *99# number. With this, you can easily transfer money even without the internet.
What is *99# UPI service?
*99# is a USSD-based mobile banking service, with the help of which you can send money without the internet and smartphone, check your balance, and also change your UPI PIN. This service works 24×7 and is available on all mobile networks of the country (Airtel, Jio, Vi, BSNL, etc.)
How to send money without the internet
To send money without internet, first type *99# in the phone's dialer and call. You will get an option to select the language. Dial 1 in it. After this, enter the details of the UPI ID to which you want to send money. After doing this, enter the UPI PIN and continue. After the PIN is verified, make the payment. Keep in mind that through this you can transfer only Rs 5000. Through this process, you can also change your UPI PIN.
If the UPI PIN is not set, how to set it?
Type it in your mobile's dialer. Enter the *99# code in the dialer and press the call button. Select the language type and send. Choose the option of Set UPI PIN. You can get this option at number 5.
Now here the last 6 digits of the bank and the expiry date of the card (MMYY) will be asked. This is the information related to your debit card.
Now an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP. Now you will be asked to create a new UPI PIN. Enter a 4 or 6-digit PIN of your choice and then confirm.
