Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Reboot DELAYED, Confirms Amar Upadhyay: 'Ektaa Kapoor Is Perfectionist'

The cult daily soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was all set to return to the small screens with the original cast comprising of Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay after 17 long years in July. However, the reboot seems to have hit a roadblock as producer Ektaa Kapoor reportedly wants some more changes to the sets.According to a report in Hindustan Times, Amar Upadhyay, who will reprise his role of Mihir Virani in the new version, confirmed the news of the delay, stating that Ektaa is a "perfectionist". "The set had to be reworked. Apparently, the color combination on screen wasn’t translating the way it should. Ektaa knows exactly what she wants — she’s a perfectionist," he said.He went on to say, "And this is Kyunki… it’s not just another show. It’s a legacy and she wants to do everything what’s best for the show."About Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi RebootThe new season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was earlier set to premiere on July 3, 2025. The date is significant as it marks the daily soap's 25th anniversary.While the premiere has now been delayed, Amar said that the shooting for the new season will begin on July 3 with a special puja. "It’s symbolic. To start again, on the same date, feels like a full circle moment. The nostalgia is hitting hard, but this time, we’re stepping into it with new energy, updated storytelling, and a set that’s being crafted down to the last detail," he said.While Smriti and Amar's return has been confirmed, it is not known yet if other members associated with the show, including Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Mouni Roy, and others will be back on the show too.
