New era of metro in Bengaluru

An important information has come to light to make public transport more convenient in Bengaluru. The much awaited Yellow line of ‘Namma Metro’ will soon be available to the general public. This 19 km long metro line will be operational after completing its security check, which will provide great relief to the passengers of Bengaluru.

According to officials of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the possible date for the inauguration of Yellow line is August 15, 2024. The country’s first ‘driverless train’ will be operated on this line, which will prove to be an important milestone for urban transport in India. Due to delay in these special trains coming from China, the opening of the Yellow line has caused a slight obstruction.

This new metro line will work to connect two major areas such as RV Road and Bommasandra in Bangalore. This will especially pass through the city’s busy technical corridors, including major IT hubs such as Electronic City and Central Silk Board. With the commissioning of this line, IT professionals and daily travelers will get facility in travel, which will reduce traffic jams and travel time.

Currently, the first driverless train set of the Yellow line is at the testing stage. The test is expected to be completed soon, after which the final security check will be conducted by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS). On the approval of CMRS, operations on the Yellow line will begin.

This new metro line will play an important role in meeting Bangalore’s growing urban needs and providing a more efficient and durable transport option for millions of residents of the city.
