From DPL to IPL: Rising Stars
The DPL provided Indian cricket with some fresh faces. One of them is Priyansh Arya, who made headlines after delivering six sixes off an over and scoring 120 off 50. He went on to sign a Rs 3.80 crore IPL contract with Punjab Kings (PBKS). He scored 475 runs in 17 games with a strike rate of 179.24, with one century and two half-centuries.
Another one who made it big is Digvesh Rathi, selected by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 30 lakh. Although he hogged the limelight for his notebook celebration that got him a one-match ban, he emerged as LSG's highest wicket-taker, claiming 14 wickets in 13 games.
Such success stories indicate that DPL is becoming an excellent stepping stone for young players to dream of reaching the IPL level.
