Relief continues in Delhi
For Delhiites, the monsoon has not only given relief from the heat, but has also reduced the level of pollution. After the rains on Sunday and Monday, air quality improvements were observed in the capital. With the onset of monsoon on Sunday, the level of pollution decreased significantly. On Monday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 65, which falls into a satisfactory category. This indicates a decline of 18 points compared to the previous day. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) estimates that the situation will remain till Wednesday.
New rules apply in Delhi
From Tuesday, 15 -year -old petrol and 10 -year -old diesel vehicles will not get fuel in the national capital. If these vehicles are found in public places, they will be seized and sent to the scrap yard. A fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on four wheelers and Rs 5,000 on two -wheeler. To control air pollution, the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) has directed all petrol pumps not to fuel vehicles of the prescribed age. The Transport Department has prepared a detailed plan to implement this rule.
Weather mood in Delhi
Since the arrival of the monsoon, the process of rain continues in Delhi. Light to moderate rain on Monday morning also led to strong winds, falling to 30.6 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature. The rains since morning made the weather pleasant and people got relief from the heat. There was 14 mm of rainfall from Sunday morning to Monday morning.
