On June 30, moderate to heavy rains were recorded in most districts of Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Sagar and Gwalior divisions of the state. Pathari (176 mm), Baroda (123 mm), Gaurihar (111 mm) and Lalbura, Orchha, Lidhaura, Jalaura, Gwalior recorded more than 60 mm of rain. The maximum temperature was 25.2 °C in Bhopal which is 8.9 °C below normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 16.0 °C in Pachmarhi, which was the lowest.
Weather on July 1 and districts with alert
On July 1, an alert of very heavy rainfall (115.6–204.4 mm) has been issued in Vidisha and Sheopurkalan districts of the state. Very heavy rainfall warning has been issued in Damoh, Panna, Mandla, Umaria, Dindori and Katni districts. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain (64.5–115.5 mm), thunderstorm and lightning in Chhatarpur, Balaghat, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Harda, Gwalior and Shivpuri.
Forecast for the next two days
The weather will remain almost the same on July 2. There is a possibility of heavy rain, lightning and strong winds especially in Gwalior, Rewa, Satna, Panna, Jabalpur, Umaria, Mandla and Balaghat districts. Some relief may be expected on July 3, but the districts of eastern Madhya Pradesh will remain cloudy and it may rain at one or two places.
Monsoon conditions
A low pressure area is formed around the Bay of Bengal and Gangetic West Bengal, which will move towards Jharkhand, North Odisha and East Madhya Pradesh in the next two days. Also, due to the cyclonic circulation and east-west trough line formed over Rajasthan and Gujarat, moisture-laden winds are continuously entering the state, due to which monsoon activities remain strong.

The Meteorological Department has advised the people of the state to be cautious about heavy rains and thunderstorms. According to the department, due to heavy rainfall, there is a possibility of reduced visibility, waterlogging in low-lying areas and disruption of road traffic. People have been instructed to stay away from open areas, under tall trees, electric poles and water-filled places.
Farmers have been advised to avoid working in the fields during the rains and postpone the spraying of fertilizers or pesticides for the time being. At the same time, livestock owners have been advised to keep their animals in a safe shed and avoid grazing them in the open, so that any possible harm can be avoided.
