The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has started working towards making bunker-bomb bombs for India. DRDO Agni-V will develop the intercontinental ballistic missile as a bunker-bomb bomb.
The range of the original version of Agni-V is more than 5000 km. This missile usually carries nuclear warheads. Whereas its modified version will be a traditional weapon that will be able to carry a huge bunker-boss warhead of 7500 kg. But its destructive capacity and accuracy will make him a malignant weapon available in India’s strategic arsenal.
Enemy hideouts built 100 meters below the land will also be demolished
Designed to attack the enemy’s military and strategic bases built under stronger layers of concrete, the missile will enter the ground down by drilling 80 to 100 meters before the explosion. India reflects its intention to match the US capabilities behind developing the missile, which recently used the world’s largest traditional bunker-bombs bomb GBU-57/A to attack Iran’s Fordo nuclear plant. The US dropped a total of 14 GBU-57/A at the Iranian nuclear plant. GBU-57 and its predecessor GBU-43 (known as the Mother of All Bomb) have established standards in the field of deep-penitions.
It will cost less to launch Indian bunker-buster bombs
The indigenous version of the GBU-57/A being developed by India is aiming for more penetration. To demolish American GBU-57/A bombs, expensive bombers are required. In contrast, India is designing to deliver its bunker-boss bombs from missiles to target. That is, the expenditure in launching Indian bunker-bombs bombs will be reduced and expensive bombers will not be required for this.
Two new versions of Agni-V are being developed
Two new versions of Agni-V are being developed. One will have the facility of Airburst Warhead for target above the ground. While the second will be the deep-penitrating missile designed to enter the harsh underground structure. First, Airburst, this missile will explode in the air and explode in a large area and destroy the runway, airbase and radar system.
At the same time, the bunker Buster Warhead which will explode from 80 to 100 meters inside the ground and destroy the enemy’s underground command center or nuclear weapons. The range of this missile is 2500 km or the variant is specially designed to meet the needs of the Indian Air Force.
Speed will be 8 to 20 times at sound speed
Talking about speed, these missiles are expected to be between Mac 8 to Mac 20 (8 to 20 times more than sound speed). These American bunker-buster weapons will be equal to the speed of the system, but their ability to carry payload.
