Congress MP Jairam Ramesh has made pointed remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to five countries, suggesting that the PM is evading pressing national issues. In a post on social media, Ramesh noted that as challenges arise, the PM, who often boasts of his strength, has chosen to leave the country. He described Modi as a 'super premium frequent flyer' embarking on an eight-day journey across five nations. Ramesh emphasized that the PM is avoiding at least four critical issues currently troubling the nation.
Ramesh highlighted several national concerns, particularly criticizing Modi for his inaction regarding ethnic violence in Manipur, a state he has yet to visit. He pointed out that the situation in Manipur has deteriorated significantly under the 'double engine' government. Additionally, he referenced disclosures by defense officials indicating that decisions made by the PM led to setbacks during the initial days of Operation Sindoor. Furthermore, he mentioned former President Trump's claims of mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, suggesting that trade deals were used as leverage. Lastly, he criticized the failure to apprehend terrorists in Pahalgam, linking them to attacks in Poonch and Gulmarg.
Previously, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also targeted the BJP-led government over allegations of U.S. mediation in Operation Sindoor, claiming that Modi followed Trump's lead after the American leader's intervention. Speaking at a Congress workers' conference in Bhopal, Gandhi criticized the BJP-RSS alliance, asserting that they flee at the slightest hint of pressure.
