The S trim, which was earlier available only with a 2.9kWh pack, now gets the same battery used in the Z 3.7kWh variant, offering a claimed IDC range of 159 km on a fully juiced battery. Despite the price difference, both models are powered by the same motor and deliver a top speed of 80 kmph.
Ather has made some feature cuts in the new S variant. It skips the TFT touchscreen found in the Z variant to make it more affordable. However, it gets a 7-inch DeepView LCD display, auto hold, turn-by-turn navigation, emergency stop signal, and other features. In terms of hardware, the new variant continues to employ a telescopic fork at the front and a single shock absorber at the back. For braking, it gets a 200mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear, along with a combined braking system. In terms of practicality, the Rizta S 3.7kWh continues to offer the same 34-litre underseat storage along with an additional 22-litre front frunk. The model is also covered under Ather’s 8-year or 80,000km battery warrantywhich guarantees a minimum of 70% battery health during the ownership period. The scooter is compatible with Ather’s wide fast-charging network, Ather Gridwhich now has over 3,900 locations across India.
