Richa Ghosh scripts HISTORY, becomes first players in the world to reach THIS milestone

New Delhi: In the second T20I between the Indian and England women teams in the County Ground in Bristol on Tuesday (July 1) Richa Ghosh registered a massive world record. Batting first after England chose to bowl first India registered an imposing total of 181 runs. India got into early trouble after they lost three wickets within 31 runs during the powerplay. But Jemimah Rodrigues (63 off 41) and Amanjot Kaur (an unbeaten 63 off 40) calm the innings with an important 93 runs partnership. A late flurry was done by Richa Ghosh who was also unbeaten on 32 off 20 balls as India finished well. Richa Ghosh scripts history Richa Ghosh created history as she became the first Player to score more than 1000 runs in Women T20 Internationals during her effective innings that contained 6 boundaries. The wicketkeeper-batter of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is also the first player in Womens T20I history who has scored more than 1000 runs holding a strike rate above 140. Richa Ghosh also has the second-fastest record of ending 1000 T20I runs in terms of the balls faced and first among players of full-member countries. Only Lucy Barnett of the Isle of Man has ever reached the milestone in one fewer delivery beating Ghosh by a matter of two balls. Richa Ghosh debuted in T20I in 2020 and represented India against Australia when she was 16 years old. Since her debut she has played 64 T20Is and amassed 1029 runs in 53 innings with an average of 27.81 with two half-centuries. Occupying the top in ODIs she has played 37 matches and scored 800 runs with a six-fifties. The 21 year old has even featured in two Test matches scoring 151 runs and achieving two half-centuries.
