Noida International Airport Update: Exciting news has emerged regarding the Noida International Airport located in Jewar, which is anticipated to begin operations by September 2025. Despite previous delays, the CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has provided an optimistic update regarding its launch.

In an exclusive interview with a media channel, YEIDA's CEO, Dr. Arun Vir Singh, shared valuable insights about the airport's operations and other ongoing projects. He mentioned that the airport will be accessible via the Yamuna Expressway, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Additionally, a railway line will connect it to national corridors, marking Indian Railways' first direct involvement in a rail project linked to an airport. Singh expressed confidence that the airport could be inaugurated in September this year.

Singh also highlighted how the construction of Jewar Airport is fostering infrastructure development in the area. He noted a surge in residential demand, with significant interest in YEIDA's plot schemes and group housing initiatives. Furthermore, projects such as the Multi-Modal Logistics Park, the upcoming Global Film City, Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0), and Semiconductor Park are attracting substantial investments and promoting industrial and commercial growth.

He stated, “With the airport serving as a catalyst, YEIDA's vision is to transform the Jewar region into a hub for aviation, investment, and smart growth.”

Overview of Noida International Airport

The construction of Noida International Airport is nearing completion. Its inauguration is expected to enhance the travel experience for many and provide greater convenience for air travel.

This airport will serve residents of Noida, Greater Noida, surrounding areas, and even Delhi. Once operational, it is projected to stimulate tourism, trade, and commerce in the region, offering an alternative to Delhi's IGI Airport and enabling passengers to board international flights directly from Noida.

Initially announced in 2021, the airport is being built in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The first phase will include one runway and one terminal, designed to accommodate 12 million passengers annually. Upon completing all four phases, the airport will have the capacity to serve 70 million passengers each year.
