Indian cricket team all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja has created history in the World Test Championship (WTC). He has become the first player to complete 2000 runs and doubles doubles in this competition. Jadeja needed 79 runs to achieve this feat, which he completed with a brilliant batting, coming in a difficult position of 211/5 of India.
When India lost the top -order wickets quickly and the threat to the lower order collapse, Jadeja took the front with captain Shubman Gill. Together, both of them shared an excellent partnership of 203 runs and strengthened the team. Jadeja was dismissed by scoring 89 and missed the fifth Test century, but his contribution proved to be decisive.
So far, Jadeja has played 41 matches in the WTC, scoring 2010 at an average of about 40. This includes his three centuries and 13 half -centuries. In bowling, he has taken 132 wickets at an average of 25.92, including five wickets and four wickets six times.
Jadeja has a special connection with Edgbaston ground in Birmingham. In 2022, he shared a 222 -run partnership with Rishabh Pant, in which both scored centuries. This time he added 203 runs with Shubman Gill. Although he missed a century this time, his batting helped India cross 400 runs in the first innings.
Shubman Gill has moved the team towards a target of 500 by scoring more than 150 runs. Now Washington Sundar also has expectations that they will strengthen the lower order and maintain the run speed after lunch.
