The Kharavela Nagar Police arrested Pradhan later and sent  him to judicial custody.

Earlier in the evening he appeared at the DCP office on his own following which he was declared arrested.

Late at night Pradhan was remanded to the Jharapada Jail after his formal helath checkup was performed in the Capital Hospital.

While he was being escorted to the Capital Hospital, Pradhan said that in no way he is to the assault of the BMC Additional Commissioner. With the complication for the state, mounted following the matter, he thought it wise to co-operate in the legal process.

“Insisting on my arrest despite my no involvement in the attack, is a political motive of the rivals to malign my social image and tarnish the goodwill of the party”, Pradhan added.
