The result of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025 will be declared on Friday. With this, the second phase of Delhi University (DU) undergraduate admission will also begin. Admission to the total undergraduate seats of DU is mainly based on the merit of CUET UG, but apart from this, some quotas are also fixed for admission in DU, in which the merit of CUET UG becomes secondary. Let us know in this episode what the rule of admission from DU Extra Curricular Activity (ECA) and Sports Quota is? How can students apply for admission from these two quotas? What is the eligibility for admission? Also, we will know how effective the merit of CUET UG proves to be for admission from the ECA and Sports Quota.
Separate application from ECA and Sports Quota in the admission portal itself
DU launched the portal for UG admission on June 17, under which the first phase of admission is currently going on. DU has clarified that the second phase will start after the CUET UG 2025 result is released. If a student wants to apply for DU admission through ECA and sports quota, then they will have to apply separately by going to this portal. There is a separate option to apply for the ECS and sports quota on the portal, through which students will have to apply under the quota.
Three-year certificates have to be uploaded.
Talking about the eligibility for admission in DU through ECA and sports quota, a one-year certificate has been made the basis for this. According to the information, while applying on the portal, students will have to upload the certificates of sports and ECA quota obtained in the period from 2022 to 2025. There is a facility to upload five certificates on the portal, out of which merit will be made on the basis of the top three certificates. However, if a student has only one certificate, then they can upload it only. DU has clarified that students who will not upload the certificate will not be called for the trial. The list of sports and ECAs prescribed for admission can be seen by visiting the DU website.
Merit is prepared based on trial and CEUT marks.
While DU mainly gives admission on the basis of CEUG UG merit, admission through sports and ECS quota is given on the basis of trial and CUET UG marks. DU organizes trials for admission through sports and ECA quota. Trials are proposed in August this year. Students are given marks on the basis of their performance in the trials. For admission through the total ECS quota, the weightage of CUET UG score is 25 percent, the weightage of certificate and trial is 75 percent. Merit for admission is prepared on this basis.
