England’s wicketkeeper-batsman Jamie Smith broke Kapil Dev’s 43-year-old record by scoring a stormy century in the first innings of the Birmingham Test.

New Delhi: The Indian cricket team looked in a strong position on the second day of the Birmingham Test against England. On the basis of Captain Shubman Gill’s record-breaking innings of 269 runs, Team India scored 587 runs in the first innings. On the third day, the host team came to play with 3 wickets at 77 runs, and Mohammed Siraj gave two consecutive shocks to the team. Half the team had returned at 84 runs and what happened after that was not expected by anyone. Jamie Smith came and created such a havoc with the bat that it broke Kapil Dev’s 43-year-old record.
