On Thursday, actor Aparshakti Khurana revealed his entry into the Tamil film industry with his upcoming project titled ROOT – Running Out of Time. Expressing his enthusiasm, he shared on Instagram, “I’m super excited to announce my first Tamil film! It’s a sci-fi thriller called ROOT, and I’m working with an incredibly passionate team.” This film is described as a sci-fi crime thriller, and Aparshakti will star alongside Gautham Karthik, known for his compelling performances in films like Devarattam and Vai Raja Vai.

The filming is currently taking place in Chennai. Aparshakti also posted several images from the film's launch event in Tamil Nadu. He expressed his excitement, stating, “I am absolutely thrilled to be making my debut in Tamil cinema with ROOT – Running Out of Time. The script is both challenging and unique, and I can’t wait to explore this new landscape. Collaborating with such a talented crew and reaching out to a new audience is something I genuinely look forward to.”
