Popular Kannada actress Bhavana Ramanna has shared that she is expecting twin babies via IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) marking a deeply personal and transformative phase in her life. At the age of 40 and never married Bhavana decided to become a mother through assisted reproduction. Her journey—filled with resistance hope and family support—is now inspiring many.
Bhavana Ramanna is six months pregnant with twins
On July 4 2025 Bhavana took to Instagram to share the news. Dressed in an asymmetrical kurta with white trousers and a soft radiant look she posed cradling her baby bump. In her caption she wrote “New Chapter A New Rhythm. I never imagined I’d be saying this — but here I am six months pregnant with twins and filled with gratitude.”
Why did many IVF clinics reject her?
She further revealed how motherhood was not a priority in her 20s and 30s but turning 40 awakened an undeniable desire. However her journey was anything but easy.
As a single woman opting for IVF Bhavana shared that many clinics refused to help. She explained “As a single woman the road wasn’t easy — many IVF clinics rejected me outright.”
It was only after meeting Dr Sushma at Rainbow Hospital Bannerghatta Road Bengaluru that she finally found acceptance and support. She added “With her support I conceived in my very first attempt. My father siblings and loved ones stood by me with pride and love.”
A home without a father but full of love
Addressing the absence of a traditional family structure Bhavana wrote “My children may not have a father but theyll grow up in a home filled with art music culture and unconditional love.”
She further added “I didn’t choose this path to rebel — I chose it to honour my truth. If my story inspires even one woman to believe in herself that’s enough.”
Changing times for single women in India
In an interview with The Times of India Bhavana also highlighted how legal changes have finally opened the door for single women to embrace IVF. While societal and institutional barriers once stood in her way the medical landscape in India has evolved making space for women like her to pursue motherhood on their terms.
Best known for her debut in Maribale (1996) Bhavana’s personal life now takes centre stage. As she prepares to welcome her twins her story becomes a beacon of courage conviction and unconditional love.
