Sanju Samson broke all records, made the most expensive player in league history

New Delhi: Sanju Samson is counted in technically strong players. This wicketkeeper batsman of India has created history. He recorded a big record not from the bat or wicketkeeping but without playing. Sanju has become the most expensive player in the Kerala Cricket League 2025 auction history. As soon as Sanju’s name came on the auction table, there was a competition to buy this player in the franchise. Although Kochi Blue Tigers won, this franchise vacated half a purse to connect Sanju. Kochi bought him for 26.80 lakh rupees.

The bid in Sanju Samson’s auction started from Rs 5 lakh. After this, the Trisoor Titans franchise bid up to 20 lakhs. Trisoor Titans felt that she had bid the most and she would connect Sanju with her. But after this Kochi Blue Tigers looted half of their treasures. In the auction, all the teams had Rs 50-50 lakh to spend on the players. But Kochi Blue Tigers spent more than half of his total purse on Sanju and made him his own for 26.80 lakh rupees. After purchasing Sanju, who played Sanju, who played as a captain from Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, Rs 23.2 lakh was saved in the purse of Kochi.

Earlier in the history of KCL auction, the most expensive player was 7.4 lakhs. Which was bought by Trivandaram Royals last season for 7.4 lakhs. This franchise had spent so much money on M Sanjeevan Akhil. However, when the players started bidding for the second season of KCL, Royals bought Basil Thampi for 8.4 lakhs. Those who broke the Sajeevan record but later Sanju left these players behind.

Sanju was the brand ambassador in the first edition of Samson League. He could not play in this league due to being busy in international cricket. This season of KCL, 29 -year -old Sanju kept himself available for the auction. The league will be held from 21 August while the final will be played on 6 September.
