In Himachal Pradesh, a case of getting a job through fake documents in Himachal Pradesh has once again come up, which has raised questions not only on the functioning of the department, but is also raising concern about the transparency of the recruitment process.

Government job handed over fake certificate

Sujit Kumar, a resident of Bakhari Post Office area of Sitamarhi district of Bihar, allegedly obtained the appointment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) on the basis of a certificate of fake 10th grade.

Become a post servant

According to the information, the recruitment process was started by the Department of Posts on the basis of merit of the matriculation examination for the posts of Branch Post Master, Assistant Branch Post Master and Gramin Dak Sevak through online selection process at all India level.

As part of this process, Sujit Kumar was selected on 14 September 2021, and was posted at the Namnit Branch Office (BO) under the Puh Sub Post Office under the Ricangpio Postal Board. He served in the post till 19 May 2022.

Board forged marksheet

Sujit Kumar had submitted a 10th marksheet shown by the Tamil Nadu State School Examination Board on 10 June 2017 to get a job. Initially, there was no disturbance in the investigation of the documents, but when the department got a verification of the concerned board to check the reality of the certificate, a big disclosure was made.

Certificate not found in government records

During verification it became clear that the certificate was neither released by the Directorate of Government Examination Chennai nor was present in the departmental records. This made it clear that Sujit Kumar has used fake documents to get a job. After this revelation, there was a stir in the postal department.

Case registered in CBI's Shimla branch

In view of the seriousness of the case, on the complaint of the Superintendent of Postal Division Rampur, the CBI Shimla branch has started investigation by registering an FIR under various sections of criminal conspiracy, fraud and corruption Prevention Act against unidentified public servants and other unknown persons including Sujit Kumar. It is now being ascertained whether it was part of a systematic gang, which is making such an intrusion into government jobs.

Profit of more than 1.31 lakhs

The investigation has also revealed that Sujit Kumar received a total salary of ₹ 1,31,038 from 14 September 2021 to 19 May 2022 while in government service on the strength of fake certificate. That is, he not only caused financial damage to the department, but also raised questions on the government system. After the matter was exposed, the department took immediate action and dismissed him from his job.

Such cases have been revealed earlier also

It is worth noting that many cases of getting appointment on the basis of fake documents in government jobs in Himachal Pradesh have been exposed earlier. The investigation of many of these cases is already pending with the CBI and Vigilance Department. Now this new case has once again raised the question whether an organized gang is behind this fraud.
