That place is none other than the in -laws of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva's in -laws are located in Kankhal in Haridwar. Kankhal is also particularly known for the Dakshawar Mahadev Temple. There is religious belief that Lord Shiva and Mother Sati were married in this temple.
According to religious beliefs, Lord Shiva resides in his in -laws Kankhal in the month of Sawan. Therefore, this place is considered very important in this month. Shiva devotees from far and wide come to visit the Daksheshwar Mahadev temple of Kankhal in the month of Sawan and worship Bholenath.
According to the Shiva Purana, once Mata Sati's father Daksha Prajapati organized a yagna in Kankhal in Haridwar, in which he did not invite Lord Shiva. But without calling, Mother Sati started insisting on walking the yagna from Shiva. When Sati Mata and Lord Shiva reached the Yajna of Daksha Prajapati, he insulted Lord Shiva of all the gods, who could not bear Sati and he sacrificed his life in the fire of Yajna.
Seeing this, Lord Shiva was very angry and angry Shiva took the form of a Veer Bhadra and separated the head of Daksha Prajapati from the torso. However, on the prayer of all the gods, Lord Shiva revived Daksha Prajapati with a goat's head, after which Daksha Prajapati apologized to Bholenath.
At the same time, Daksha Prajapati took a promise from Bholenath that he would reside in Sawan every year and give him a chance to serve. Religious belief is that since then Lord Shiva sits here in the form of Dakshawar in Sawan every year in Kankhal, Haridwar and operates the entire universe.
