The PM YASASVI Scheme aims to empower meritorious students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified, Nomadic Tribes (DNT) by offering financial support to continue their education from Class 9 through college and beyond.
Under this scheme, students can receive:
Up to ₹1.25 lakh in scholarship
₹2 lakh for full college tuition fee (for private institutions)
₹45,000 to purchase a laptop or computer
₹3,000 monthly stipend for food and lodging
₹5,000 for books and stationery
₹3.72 lakh for pilot training at certified flying clubs
The scheme comprises five components, each catering to a different stage of education:
Pre-Matric Scholarship – ₹4,000 annually for Classes 9 and 10
Post-Matric Scholarship – For higher secondary and undergraduate students, depending on course type (₹5,000 to ₹20,000 per year)
Top Class School Education Scheme – ₹75,000 for Classes 9-10, and ₹1.25 lakh for Classes 11-12
Top Class College Education Scheme – Full tuition support, laptop grant, living allowance
Construction of Hostels – For both boys and girls to ensure safe accommodation
To apply under the PM YASASVI scheme, candidates must:
Be an Indian citizen
Belong to the OBC, EBC, or DNT category (not covered under SC/ST)
Have a family income below ₹2.5 lakh per annum
Be studying in a Top Class School or College recognized under the scheme
Not be availing any other central scholarship simultaneously
Not repeat the same course again for eligibility
Only two children from a family are allowed to receive the benefit
