India registered their first-ever win over England in a Test match at Edgbaston. The Asian team secured a memorable victory by 336 runs in the second Test against England to level the five-match series 1-1.

India landed in England without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma after the two veterans announced their retirement from red-ball cricket. The two revealed their decision just before the tour of England. However, the sub-continent nation hasn’t felt their absence in the two games so far. The top order has contributed, with captain Shubman Gill leading the charge, having amassed more than 500 runs.

Harsha Bhogle spoke about Virat and Rohit and how the young batters have shared the responsibilities after the retirement of the two legends of the game. Sunil Gavaskar reminded him that no one is indispensable and even compared the two Indian players to greats Don Bradman and Sir Garfield Sobers.

“Don Bradman and Sir Garfield Sobers were not indispensable. They went away and the new players came and took their places. Yes, you are going to miss them,” Sunil Gavaskar said.

“The two names you took are also not indispensable. You miss them but their places have been taken,” he added.
