There is an alternative way to make a full English breakfast that might just be a game-changer. A full English is a beloved breakfast dish going back generations. Normally made up of sausages, eggs, black pudding, bacon, beans and toast, this breakfast is a hearty way to start any weekend day and is packed full of flavour. Many people swear by never changing a full English breakfast but others are more adventurous.

For those people, this is a way to add a fun twist to it. R&G Fresh, a distributor of herbs and ingredients, shared their tips for making a unique English breakfast. Instead of having everything separate on the plate, they make it "country-style." Essentially, this means that everything is made all together at once. "Rather than presenting everything separately, you enjoy a jumble of delicious food, all cooked in a single pan where the flavours can meld together," they reveal. The site adds that finely chopped parsley "gives the dish so much texture and richness".

As well as the favourites from a full English breakfast, there are also potatoes in this one. It is made in just five steps, according to Best Recipes UK.

The ingredients used to make this one are:

  • 500g halved potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 red onion
  • 100g smoked bacon lardons
  • 100g chorizo
  • 6 pork sausages
  • A handful of baby plum tomatoes
  • A small handful of fresh parsley
  • Sea salt and pepper
  • 4 eggs

The sausages can be left whole or cut up, whichever you prefer. The ingredients are interchangeable, and you can remove and add things depending on your preferences. Tinned baked beans would be a great addition to this.

To start, chop your potatoes in half and boil them in salted water until tender, draining them and setting them aside. Then, add the olive oil and onions to a hot pan and push them to one side once the onions have cooked.

Add in the bacon lardons, chorizo and sausage, and gently fry until they start to go golden. Then, add in the chilli flakes and mix. After that, you add in the potatoes and a bit more olive oil and let everything cook for a further 15 minutes.

Then, add the sausages and the tomatoes and cook for a while longer before adding in the parsley and tossing everything gently. Make holes in the mixture in which you crack the eggs. Fry them for between two and three minutes.

"Serve on warmed plates, topped with the fried eggs and a good dollop of ketchup, chilli sauce or just by itself," the recipe concludes.
