Local media reports indicate that members of the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu now need to obtain permission from Mandy Ma, the wife of Hsu’s ex-husband Wang Xiaofei, before they can visit Hsu’s children.

According to The StarTaiwanese media sources revealed that Hsu’s two children—Wang Hsi Yueh, 11, and Wang Hsi Lin, 9—have been living with their father Wang and his new wife Ma since the actress’ passing in February. However, the fact that Hsu’s family must ask Ma’s approval to visit the children has raised concerns, with many seeing Ma’s strict control over visits as excessive.
Ma has denied these allegations, as reported by China Timesaccording to Znews. She stated that she has always encouraged Hsu’s family to visit the children but has never been approached by them to arrange such visits.
“If they don’t come, who can we blame?” Ma emphasized.
Wang, 44, and Hsu, who passed away at the age of 49, married in 2011 and divorced in 2021 due to “irreconcilable differences.” After their divorce, Hsu rekindled a relationship with her former boyfriend, 55-year-old South Korean musician DJ Koo, marrying him in Feb. 2022.
Wang registered his marriage to Ma, a 26-year-old businesswoman and online influencer, in May 2024, and the couple held their wedding ceremony in May this year.
