Telugu film star Mahesh Babu is currently embroiled in a legal dispute related to a real estate fraud case. The Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana has sent notices to the actor, known for his role in Guntur Kaaram, for allegedly endorsing a company that deceived homebuyers, as reported by a local news outlet.
A complaint has been lodged by a doctor from Hyderabad, who claims to have lost Rs 34.8 lakh after investing in plots that were later revealed to be non-existent. Mahesh Babu has been named as the third respondent in this case due to his promotional activities for the real estate firm.
This incident is not the first time Mahesh Babu has faced scrutiny regarding real estate ventures. In April 2024, he was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of a money laundering investigation linked to Sai Surya Developers and Surana Group, where he allegedly received Rs 5.9 crore for his endorsement.
Recently, Mahesh Babu starred in the action-drama Guntur Kaaram, which grossed an impressive Rs 126.62 crore at the box office. He is also set to work with renowned director SS Rajamouli on a high-budget pan-India film featuring Priyanka Chopra, expected to hit theaters in 2026 or 2027.
As of now, there has been no official comment from Mahesh Babu or his team regarding the ongoing legal situation.
