UP ATS has arrested Jamaluddin alias Chhangur Baba, exposing a large network of illegal conversion in Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of the FIR registered in the same case, another accused Neetu Rohra alias Nasreen has also been arrested.

According to investigative agencies, Jamaluddin propagates himself in the name of Haji Pir Jalaluddin, he is accused of forcibly converting the girls. The rate of girls of every caste was fixed. He had been running a network of conversion for a long time in Utraula town of Balrampur. For this network, there is also talk of getting funding of more than Rs 100 crore from abroad.

ADGP (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said that UP STF had received information that a person in Utraula town of Balrampur district promotes Chhangur Baba alias Jamaluddin Baba, he promotes himself as Haji Pir Jalaluddin, he is running an organized conversion network.

Funding of more than Rs 100 crore
During the investigation, it was found that the accused used to inspire girls to convert through their agents. It has also been revealed that this network has received foreign funding of more than Rs 100 crore, which was being used in conversion work.

Traveling to Islamic countries 50 times
According to the ADGP, Jamaluddin Baba has traveled to Islamic countries 40 to 50 times so far. Investigation has also found that he has also bought many properties in Balrampur. A case has been registered against him and UP ATS is investigating.

At present, two people have been arrested in this case and STF says that the access of this network is spread all over India. Foreign funding especially from Gulf countries has come to light, which is being investigated.

Agencies looking for others
The ADGP has also indicated that more people may be arrested in the coming days. Investigation agencies are engaged in opening layers of the entire network. The police is looking at the matter with national security and social harmony. Both the accused have been arrested in the joint action of UP STF and ATS. The police is now searching for other people associated with this entire racket and there is a possibility that more arrests may be made soon.

1. Foreign Funding and Property
A complaint was received against several suspects including Chhangur Baba, Nasreen and Mehboob from village Madhpur, police station Utraula in Balrampur district. It is alleged that he bought bungalows, luxury vehicles and showrooms from foreign funding within a year.

2. Change name by brainwash
Investigation revealed that Chhangur Baba alias Jamaluddin, Naveen Ghanshyam Rohra, resident of Mumbai, his wife Neetu and daughter Samale were brainwashed and motivated to adopt Islam. After changing religion, the three named Jamaluddin, Nasreen and Sabiha.

3. Conversion by implicating in love
Gunja Gupta of Lucknow was implicated by accused Abu Ansari by calling himself Amit and then taking Chhangur Baba's Dargah and brainwashed with the help of Neetu Rohra and Jamaluddin was confessed to Islam. Her new name was Alina Ansari.

4. Conversion rate fixed
The gang had a fixed fee for conversion.
For Brahmin/Kshatriya/Sardar Girls: ₹ 15-16 Lakh
For backward caste girls: ₹ 10-12 lakhs
For other castes: ₹ 8-10 lakhs

5. Foreign Travels and Bank Transaction
The gang has traveled to Islamic countries about 40 to 50 times. They have more than 40 bank accounts in which more than 100 crores have been transacted.

Chhangur Baba, Mehboob, Pinky Harijan, Hajira Shankar, Amen Rizvi (alleged journalists), Sagir, and Neetu Rohra used to pressurize the poor and helpless to change religion. Due to non -acceptance of the matter, he was threatened with implication in the case.

7. Previous cases are also filed
A case of illegal conversion (221/23) is also registered against Chhangur Baba's colleagues and relatives at Devegaon police station in Azamgarh.
