Tamil Actors Srikanth & Krishna Granted Conditional Bail By Madras HC In Drugs Case

Tamil actors Krishna and Srikanth have been granted conditional bail from Madras High Court in connection with a drugs case. The HC heard the bail plea of both the actors on Tuesday (July 8). For the unawares, Krishna and Srikanth were arrested by Chennai Police after traces of cocaine were found post the medical examination of the actors.According to local media reports, the actors have been asked to appear before the investigation officer of the case until further orders are issued. Both of them were arrested in connection with the same case. Krishna, who had gone incommunicado after his name cropped up in the drugs case, was nabbed by the police on June 26, post which he was detained for questioning. After interrogating him for 17 hours, the actor was arrested.Along with Krishna, alleged drug peddler Kevin was also arrested in the case.Actor Srikanth arrested in drugs caseKrishna's name came up in the investigation days after Srikanth was arrested in Chennai on June 23. He was sent to judicial custody until July 7, 2025.Srikanth has been reportedly accused of buying cocaine worth Rs 12,000. After he was arrested and his samples were sent for medical examination, he tested positive for having consumed illegal narcotics.What is the case?It all began after T Prasad, a member of the AIADMK IT wing, got arrested in connection with a brawl at a private bar in Nungambakkam. He was reportedly found to have supplied banned narcotics, including cocaine, to Srikanth.Reports suggest that Srikanth purchased the cocaine from Prasad during a party linked to the film Theekirai. Notably, the film is co-produced by Prasad, with Srikanth playing the lead role.
