South superstar Rishab Shetty is making waves with his upcoming projects, including the much-anticipated Kantara Chapter 1 set to release in theaters this October. Recently, the team wrapped up shooting, and interestingly, Rishab has adopted a strategy similar to that of KGF star Yash when it comes to his fees for this film.

According to a report by Koimoi, Rishab Shetty negotiated a massive 25% hike in his fees for Kantara Chapter 1. While he previously charged Rs 4 crore, the film is expected to gross around Rs 400 crore at the box office.

Rishab’s fee for Kantara Chapter 1 has reportedly surged to around Rs 100 crore, covering his roles as writer, director, and lead actor. A significant portion of his earnings will come from profit sharing—a trend increasingly followed by stars like Yash. This means Rishab will receive a fixed percentage of the film’s profits once it starts earning post-release.

Rishab Shetty is already on the rise, having secured Rs 50 crore upfront for the film. With heavy promotion underway, expectations are high for Kantara Chapter 1. Meanwhile, Yash will be seen portraying Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he too is part of the profit-sharing model and also serves as co-producer.

Both Yash and Rishab’s approach to profit sharing reflects a shift in how actors are capitalizing on big-budget films. With Ramayana and Kantara Chapter 1 poised to be massive hits, their decision could earn them substantial wealth beyond their fixed fees.
