Mumbai: Fans Eagerly Await ‘Special Ops’ Season 2

Fans of the espionage thriller ‘Special Ops’ will need to exercise a bit more patience as the premiere of its second season has been postponed. Originally set to debut on JioHotstar on July 11th, the new release date is now July 18th.

The specific reasons behind this delay have yet to be disclosed.

In this upcoming season, Kay Kay Menon reprises his role as the determined R&AW officer Himmat Singh, who leads his team into a new kind of warfare—one that unfolds in the shadows of cyberspace rather than on traditional battlefields. As cyber threats loom large, Himmat and his crew engage in a covert battle.

Reflecting on the anticipated series, Menon remarked, “Himmat Singh is not your average hero; he bears burdens rather than seeking fame. This time, the conflicts are subtler yet more perilous, and every choice carries significant weight. As an actor, it’s rare to encounter a character that challenges you so profoundly, both in performance and spirit. I hope viewers can sense the depth and emotion we’ve infused into this season.”

Directed by Shivam Nair, the second season features an impressive cast, including Prakash Raj, Vinay Pathak, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher, Muzammil Ibrahim, Gautami Kapoor, Parmeet Sethi, and Kali Prasad Mukherjee, among others.

Recently, Tahir Raj Bhasin, who plays the antagonist in ‘Special Ops 2’, shared his thoughts on working with Menon, noting that it is both an honor and a significant challenge.

He expressed, “I have admired his performances for years, both as a hero and a villain. His nuanced portrayal of Himmat Singh, filled with sarcasm and intensity, is something audiences appreciate and expect. My goal was to create a character that complements his with a subtle charm and wit, enhancing the show's conflict.”
