VIDEO: 12-year-old lies on railway track as train passes over him for Instagram reels in Odisha; 2 detained

Two minor boys in Odisha’s Bolangir district have been booked for filming a life-threatening video while lying on railway tracks.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) registered the case after the video surfaced on social media platforms.
The police said, the investigation found that the viral video, in which one of the boys was seen lying on track with a train approaching, was shot between Purnapani and Jharmunda railway stations.
The two boys, one 12 and another 15, were taken to the RPF post in Balangir along with their parents for legal action, the police said.
A case was registered under sections 153, 145(b), and 147 of the Railways Act. However, further legal proceedings were carried out in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Act.
The local police and the villagers assisted the RPF in identifying the two boys who live near the Purnapani station.
The viral video was reportedly shot on 29 June. While the 12-year-old boy performed the stunt by lying on the track, his friend, aged 15, recorded the video.
