Aadhaar card is the biggest document used in India. About 90 percent of the country's population has an Aadhaar card. Aadhaar card is needed for everything from taking admission in school college to taking benefits in government schemes.

But now if you are thinking of getting any work done related to Aadhaar card. So now you need to be more cautious than before. Because some new rules have been implemented by UIDAI. Which will affect Aadhaar card holders.

These changes have been made regarding getting Aadhaar card made and updated. Now if someone will get Aadhaar card made or updated. So which documents can he use for this. Its list has been released.

Let us tell you that this new list is not limited to Indian citizens only. It also includes Overseas Indian Citizens i.e. OCI card holders, children above 5 years of age and people living in India on long term visa. Let us tell you about the documents.

These include four types of documents. These include proof of identity (POI), proof of address (POA), proof of date of birth (DOB), and proof of relationship (POR). Which documents will be valid for these categories. Its information is available on the UIDAI website and portal.

Documents like passport, PAN card, voter ID, driving license, government photo ID, NREGA job card, pensioner ID, transgender identity card will be accepted as proof of identity. E-PAN and e-EPIC have also been recognized.

Apart from this, for proof of address, the latest electricity, water, gas or telephone bill, bank passbook, ration card, registered rent agreement or residence certificate issued by the government can now be used. The condition that the document should not be more than 3 months old has been kept mandatory.

To change the date of birth, documents like passport, school mark sheet, pension documents or date of birth certificate issued by the government will now be required. UIDAI will verify every detail through these documents so that the possibility of errors in Aadhaar is minimal.
