Pakistani television host and actress Nida Yasir is facing backlash on social media after sharing photos and videos from her family vacation in Paris, just days after the passing of her brother-in-law, Waqas Nawaz.

Nida, who has made a name for herself more as a morning show host than an actress, married well-known actor, director, and producer Yasir Nawaz in 2002. The couple shares three children: sons Fareed and Balaj, and daughter Sila. Recently, Nida and Yasir traveled to Paris with their son Balaj, where they appear to be spending quality time together. Nida has been actively posting updates from the trip on her Instagram account.

She first shared glimpses from their visit to the Eiffel Tower, followed by a series of photos and a video from Disneyland Paris. In the video, Nida can be seen enjoying the theme park alongside her husband and son. She is dressed in a sky-blue gown with a pink half-jacket, and her hair tied in a half-up style. Though the video showcases cheerful family moments, many social media users were quick to criticize the timing of the posts.

Some users expressed their disappointment, stating that the family vacation felt inappropriate so soon after a loss in the family. One user commented, “Not sure if Waqas Nawaz was Yasir’s real brother or not, but it hasn’t even been a month since a death in the family, and you’re already vacationing.” Another wrote, “Just a few days ago, Yasir Nawaz was mourning his brother’s death, and now he’s in Paris with his wife.”

The criticism stems from a heartfelt post Yasir Nawaz shared on June 24, announcing the passing of his brother Waqas Nawaz.

Earlier, Actress and TV host Nida Yasir shared a deeply personal and emotional revelation on her morning show, Good Morning Pakistan, about how her mother’s death affected her emotionally and behaviorally.

Nida explained that she was not in Pakistan at the time of her mother’s passing: she was vacationing in the Maldives, and due to COVID-19 restrictions, testing delays, and travel barriers, she arrived after the funeral had already taken place She described this as her “biggest regret,” tearfully recalling how she spent the day she learned the news praying fervently to return, but remained blocked by pandemic protocols.

Upon her return, Nida found herself overcome with grief. She repeatedly played her mother’s WhatsApp voice messages, clinging to her voice for solace. However, each time she listened, her sorrow intensified—the familiar tone triggered tears and a painful reminder of her absence during her mother’s final moments.
