In the midst of protests against the Bihar Bandh, Tejashwi Yadav, a leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), launched a fierce attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday. He accused the commission of functioning as an extension of a political party. Speaking to a news outlet, Yadav questioned, 'Will two individuals from Gujarat decide who among the Bihar voters can cast their vote and who cannot?'

Yadav further alleged that the Election Commission has lost its credibility and is systematically preparing to exclude poor individuals from the voter list. He claimed, 'There is a large-scale effort underway to remove the names of poor people from the voter list. First, their names are being deleted, and soon their pensions and rations will be taken away as well.'

Tejashwi Yadav, alongside Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, is set to participate in protests organized by the INDIA Bloc in Patna against the voter list revision process in the electoral state of Bihar. Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed also criticized the Election Commission and the ruling NDA, asserting that they are causing distress to the public. He stated, 'You can see that people are taking our call for protests seriously. The ruling party is collaborating with the Election Commission to trouble the public. There are many questions - were the votes of those exercising their rights in the 2024 elections not valid? The current government will not be able to sustain itself.'

Meanwhile, as part of the Bihar Bandh, Congress workers staged protests in Patna, blocking roads. At one point, activists lay down on the road to prevent vehicles from passing. A Congress worker remarked, 'We will continue this until the government meets our demands. We will fight until our leadership instructs us otherwise... The ruling party is merely trying to confuse the public.'
